About Ringler's House on Haunted Hill

A Girl Scout Troop’s Last-Minute Spookfest

In 2000, with just eight hours’ notice, we created a haunted trail for our oldest daughter’s Girl Scouts troop. The initial trail was a modest 100-yard path shaped like an L, but it ignited a spark of creativity and excitement that would grow beyond our wildest dreams.

Word-of-Mouth Magic

Over the next three years, our haunted trail’s reputation spread through word of mouth, attracting more visitors and quickly outgrowing our original property. By the fifth year, we had relocated to our family farm, expanding the trail to a 20-25 minute experience. The increasing attendance pushed us to seek even more space.

Finding Our Forever Home

In 2009, we embarked on a quest to find the perfect piece of property. We discovered our dream location on Highway 23, east of Mora, in the Brook Park area. The moment we closed on this property, we dove headfirst into building, determined to create a trail that offered a 25-30 minute walk of spine-chilling adventure.

Branding and Expanding

By 2014, our haunted attraction had grown into something spectacular. We rebranded as Ringler’s House on Haunted Hill, transitioning from a one-night free event to a multi-weekend extravaganza. The trail grew longer each year, and by 2018, it had become a 45-minute experience. To cater to younger guests, we introduced the Children of Haunted Hill, a no-scare trail designed for families.

Innovations and Expansion

In 2020, we relocated the Children of Haunted Hill trail, integrating the old kids’ trail into the main scare trail. This year also marked the groundbreaking of the Ringler Family Campground and the Ringler Stampede Rodeo grounds. By 2023, we combined the expanded Children of Haunted Hill trail with Ringler’s House on Haunted Hill, creating a mega-trail that offers a 60-70 minute adventure with a halfway rest area. Starting in 2024, we will offer daytime tours of the entire attraction for kids and families.

A Revolutionary Design

When we designed the new property in 2014, we faced the challenge of keeping our build areas fresh and exciting for returning guests. Our revolutionary solution was to create a reversible trail, with different facades and themes on each side. By changing lighting, interior themes, and actors’ costumes, each area transforms into a whole new experience, extending the life of our builds to an impressive eight years.

An Immersive Experience

Today, our haunted attraction boasts over 7,000 feet of electric wiring, more than 1,000 lights, 13 fog machines, and a dedicated team of 50-60 actors and support staff. We are committed to providing a fully immersive experience for our guests, ensuring every visit to Ringler’s House on Haunted Hill is a thrilling adventure they’ll never forget.
